The Apple iPad 2 rumours have reached fever pitch this week with a new rumour coming every day, today’s is based on the tablets release date which has previously been speculated to be in April with the device getting an official unveiling on February 1st – today’s news dispels the latter pointing to March 9th instead.

Before the current iPad was released Apple placed 27 on their calendar app and sure enough they announced the iPad on the 27th January. The current iOS 4.3 which has been released to developers has seemingly revealed a similar clue according to the German site Schimanke. The iOS when fired up displays 9 on the calendar screen which could mean Apple is planning to unveil the iPad 2 on that date – let’s face it they are known for their routines.

So the 9th of February could be the date that the iPad to be revealed to the world or perhaps on the 9th March, either way this still supports the rumoured April release date. Would Apple try and crash HP’s event on the 9th March or cause an upset just before the start of the Mobile world congress in February? – Only time will tell.

This evidence is rubbish. The default calendar date for all images of iOS devices is always the 9th!
