After much speculation is seems that the guys over at 9to5 Mac have uncovered some actual evidence that the Apple iPad 2 will indeed come equipped with a front facing camera and at the same time dispelled rumours the Apple’s second gen tablet will have no home button.
The photos show a screen protector supposedly for the iPad 2, it clearly has a pin hole similar to what you would find on an iPhone 4 screen protectors for the front facing camera. Interestingly the hole is cut out in such a way that users would have to hold the iPad 2 in portrait to use the camera prompting the question, will users have to hold the iPad 2 in portrait to use the camera for Facetime?
Other recent rumours around the spec of the iPad 2 include a dual-core processor (probable), carbon fibre shell (possible but unlikely), dual cameras (a given to match rivals) and that the device will be have the same release date as iOS 4.3.
Although this latest photo comes from a well known source it could be true or on the flip side a fake, let’s be honest it wouldn’t be too difficult to bore out a hole on an existing iPad screen cover. Either way it’s nice to get some more snippets on the upcoming tablet which we could be seeing in the not to distant future.
