Yesterday news broke that the second generation iPad, the iPad 2, would come with a inch wide slot on the back for an SD card reader. The source was certain that their informant was trustworthy and today another silicone case has emerged that seems to suggest the rumour carries some weight.
The silicone skins were snapped by Appleinsider, they show detailed cut outs that appear to be for the SD reader, camera slot, volume controls, headphone jack, dock connector and even a speculated mini display port on the top of the case. That’s a lot of ports and to be honest the case looks a bit of a mess, if Apple is planning to roll out the iPad 2 with this number of ports case manufacturers will have their work cut out if they want to produce a pretty case.
The accuracy of this case is unknown, however one constant we can take from it that various sources have now revealed that the slot on the back will be for an SD slot which will make many users very happy even if it does make the case a bit holy!
If predictions are correct we won’t have long to wait before the iPad 2 is unveiled in February with an expected release date of April.
Has there now been enough evidence to prove the iPad 2 will feature an SD slot? Or is the evidence as holy as this latest case?
