The last couple of weeks have been filled with speculation and leaks surrounding the Apple iPhone 5. First we heard it would include NFC, then Apple denied this and finally another ‘expert close to the matter’ confirmed that it would indeed come with the wave and pay technology. A new report by The China Times has also suggested NFC, a new antenna and a 4 inch display will all come as standard on the iPhone 5.
The Chinese newspaper is known for providing accurate leaks; the information isn’t new but does support a lot of previous rumours. They have also been informed that the iPhone 5 is now in trial production. This would fit inline with Apple’s suspected summer release as full scale production always follows shortly after these trial runs.
Specifications and indeed speculations around Apple’s next smartphone are starting to pull together, China Times says that their source confirmed the iPhone 5 will have an aluminium back, a new antenna, include NFC, a 500 megapixel camera [that’s not a typo but perhaps a problem with Google Translate] and increased production fuelled by a new plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
They also say that the A5 processor, as seen in the iPad 2, will also be used in the iPhone 5.
Some food for thought as this is the first time someone has put all of the rumours together from one ‘mole’. We will just have to wait and see if there is any truth in them.
