Yesterday we brought news of the impending Apple events in San Francisco and London, the March 2^nd events are hotly tipped to be the launch venues for the Apple iPad 2.

Mere hours after the invites went out the exhibition centre in San Francisco began preparations for the big day erecting banners and covering windows in Apple logos and colourful dots.

The invites that went out yesterday tantalisingly read “Come see what 2011 will be the year of,”  with the famous calendar icon showing March 2^nd peeling away to show what appears to be an iPad. To be honest from the invite logo it actually looks pretty similar but we guess Apple want to save some secrets until next week.

Over the past couple of months speculation over the second generation iPad has been rife with many specifications ranging from Dual cameras, a dual core processor, thinner frame and rear speaker slots all a possibility. Some sources have suggested that the extra colourful decorations at the Yerba Buena Center could mean an improved screen resolution – perhaps akin to the iPhone 4 retina display.

There is less than a week left before the event which so far has been planned to launch in San Francisco and London on the same day. No news has emerged from the BBC Television centre where UK journalists will be first to hear the Apple announcement next week.
