While other notebook makers in the market are struggling to make a laptop that will match the innovations of its MacBook Airs, Apple is now hoping to shove it to the face if its rivals with newly redesigned MacBook pros that will sport the same design as its thin notebook line.
According to the sources of Apple new site AppleInsider, the company plans to give a complete overhaul to their MacBook Pros, resembling the MacBook Air more than its current look. The website reported that the company will be launching a 15-inch notebook lineup first and then the 17-inch version will follow shortly after.
“This will include new, ultra-thin unibody enclosures that jettison yesteryear technologies like optical disk drives and traditional hard drives in favor of models with lightweight chassis that employ flash-memory based solid-state drives, instant-on capabilities, extended battery life, and rely on digital distribution for software and media,” according to the report by AppleInsider.
It is also said that the current designs of MacBook Pro are expected to be phased out before the year ends, as the new versions could be launched this spring.
Some are asking that if Apple releases a MacBook Pro that looks like the MacBook Air, how will they differentiate the two? The answer is the size. Apple might launch 11- and 13-inch MacBook Airs, while the MacBook Pro will sport 15- and 17-inch screens with more powerful specs.
