After the shenanigans at RIM yesterday and over the weekend the mobile giants surely thought the rest of the week would be quiet. However, it’s not to be as thousands of Blackberry users report further BBM and network downtime today.
Users have been reporting failures of both the BIS services used to deliver email and the companies main selling point BBM. The service seems to be creaking under it’s own weight as it battles to compete with newer services from all the other mobile carriers.
BBM Users Turn To Twitter
After a 24 hour outage RIM announced that their Blackberry Messenger and network issues had been fixed after much anger and complaints from consumers. This latest outage has already resulted in many users turning to social networking sites to voice their opinion.
Some users seem angry and fed up with the BBM being down, one said “Spoke to soon, bbm is down againnnnn:(“ whilst another simply read, “Get your act together BBM, there are other services we can use”.
Others remained upbeat and even poked fun at the environment and behavior created by the whole messaging philosophy. @alastairotter said Guy phones into radio. Distressed ‘cos he can’t tell his partner some good news ‘cos BBM not working. Wot?! You haven’t heard of the phone?
Have you experienced any BBM or BIS downtime? If so where in the world are you and how long have you been experiencing problems?
