Bethesda has revealed the system requirements of the PC version of their new game RAGE on its blog. So if you’re planning to buy Bethesda and id Software’s new shooting game, you only have a few weeks to upgrade your PCs in order to run the first person shooter.

The developer listed the minimum and recommended system requirements to play the game. On the minimal end, it appears that a lot of people will enjoy the game if they choose not to upgrade their hardware.

The following are the system requirements for you to check what you need to play the game:

Minimum:

  • OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or Equivalent AMD
  • Memory: 2GB
  • Hard Disk Space: 25GB
  • Video Card: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200

Recommended:

  • OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or Equivalent AMD
  • Memory: 4GB
  • Hard Disk Space: 25GB
  • Video Card: GeForce 9800 GTX, ATI Radeon HD 5550

The minimum requirements is what you’d expect for a new game, but it seems that the recommended specification is a little low. A Quad-core processor and 4 GB of RAM aren’t much these days, and the game’s only heavy requirement is the 25 GB of hard disk space. This won’t affect many users, though, as we have entered the era of terabyte hard drives. The video card, GeForce 9800 GTX and ATI Radeon HD 5550 is really surprising as the two have been around for years now.

RAGE takes place in the future, after an asteroid impact has wiped out almost all living humans. A few people survived by hiding in underground shelters called “Arks,” similar to Fallout’s Vaults.

Bethesda will ship RAGE on October 4 in the United States, followed by a release in Europe on the 7th.
