Apparently, lifting dumbbells is not good enough anymore. Unlike those ‘crazy exercise equipment’ of the past, these new BodyVib dumbbells vibrate at 36 Hz with an amplitude of 1.2 mm, which is said to be more than enough to increase the effectiveness of your training by as much as 50 percent.
If you are looking to intensify your training routine, you should be looking beyond conventional dumbbells and use these new weights, if the blurb on the companies website is anything to go by.
The BodyVib vibrating dumbbells are the result of years of German research and development. It is used like normal dumbbells, but the vibrations from the device ensure that the muscles of the arms and hands respond by relaxing and contracting. This will help the user burn a larger amount of fat in a shorter period. What’s good about using it is results in a longer afterburn time.
The world’s best athletes, such as three time Olympic riflery champion Ralf Schumann, train with these technologically advanced weights, as these intensify the training further. The dumbbells produce 2,160 vibrations per minute for a more effective workout.
It comes with a charger that fully charges the weights in 30 to 50 minutes. To prolong its battery life, the device uses a sensor to only start vibrating once you grab the handle. The BodyVib vibrating weights is available in 3.3, 6 and 10 pound pairs, and sells for a whopping £649 ($1,060) to £729 ($1,190) on Pro-Idee.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a vibrating weight, we reviewed the shake weight before and found them to be a novel way to tone up. This device is a whole other level though, the proof in the pudding is the eating – but at £729 it will be a long time before we buy a set.
What do you think, are vibrating weights the future?
