Although the iPad 2 has been available to buy for three weeks now there is still no official word from Apple regarding sales. Last week eBay threatened to release sales info since the official US release date on 11th March and today it has officially been rolled out for all to see. Although the figures are based on the US facing site they showed significant demand and sales around the world. When compared to the same time last year unsurprisingly more tablets where sold in the US. In 2010 65% of US iPad’s where actually exported via...

Photoshop world 2011 has unveiled some interesting new tech making its way to the Apple iPad in the near future. Adobe has been showing off a new app that they are still developing that will bring the most powerful editing tools to the iPad. Adobe already provides a basic version, Photoshop Express for the iPad and iPad 2 which offers basic tools for editing photographs. To be honest it’s of no comparison to what was shown off today as the demo showed layered images, filters and tools akin to the full pc based version. Sadly there is...
The first quarter looks like it has been a sensational success for Apple and its iPad models. The total number of combined sales for the iPad 2 and the original device looks like it could reach almost 9 million units if we believe what some industry experts are currently saying. iPads have been selling like hot cakes since Apple first shifted 3 million in the under 3 months when they launched the first generation back in 2010. However, the early success achieved this year may well be even sweeter given the level of competition in the tablet...
Apple rolled out the iPad 2 in 25 more countries on Friday 25th March, one of which was the UK. Unlike previous release dates Apple did not allow consumers to pre-order the iPad 2 via their website, instead they held off orders until 1am on Friday morning. It appears that availability of Apples second generation tablet may be running low as waiting times for online orders have shot up to three or four weeks – much like in the states where customers are facing delays of over a month. This delay will likely lengthen as time progresses...
The Apple iPad 2 launched across the UK on the 25th March. As expected queues were long, extraordinarily long even by Apple standards. We hopped into the Cribbs Causeway line, Bristol at 3:30pm and over 200 people were already in the line with some of them taking the day off work to ensure they were at the front. It seems the entire country experienced similar queues, especially in London. The first person in the UK to pick up up an iPad 2 was Jewels (not Jules) Lewis, a dedicated fan who took his place at the head of the line 34 hours...
On Friday 25th March Apple released the iPad 2 in the UK and 24 other countries around the world. We attended the Bristol launch event where approximately 300 people queued to wait patiently from 1PM onwards. By 5PM the queue stretched way past the allotted space and around the corner, the guys from Apple did a whacky lap of honour before finally opening the doors at 5pm. After a couple of hours we were in the store, clapped and cheered by the staff – within in a few minutes we had purchased and left the store, iPad 2 in hand to race...
Apple will officially release their long awaited iPad 2 tablet tomorrow, at 5pm consumers will flood their glass clad shops in a bid to pick up either a Wi-Fi or 3G second gen tablet. Other retailers will also begin the roll out the iPad 2 at the same time with many networks offering cheaper deals if you agree to a 24 month contract. Both T-mobile and Orange will offer the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G for £199 up front to existing customers. The only catch being a two year data contract costing £25 per month. For that users will receive 1GB of anytime...
The latest offering from Spec draws from a case they made for the original iPhone. This iGuy has been made for the iPad 2 and will make displaying and handling the tablet a whole lot of fun, granted it’s not very portable but it sure looks cool. The iGuy is available in blue, green and yellow and is made from a robust foam that Speck say make it ‘kid friendly’, the handles certainly look like they would make it easier to handle. Mobile Fun are selling the case for £29.95 with free delivery. Nice one Speck. ...
The Apple iPad 2 is still two days away from launch in the UK but this hasn’t stopped Stuart Hughes getting hold of two of the tablets and giving them a somewhat gaudy makeover. Despite looking like a cross between a tortoise shell hairgrip and oil slick on the front this bad boy will set you back £5,000,000 – yes £5 million! What makes it so special? I hear you ask. This limited edition iPad 2 comes with a solid gold 24 carat back complete with 24ct diamond encrusted logo – impressive looking and when you consider it adds 2,000...
