EA Sports is shelling out extra digital rewards for those who pre-order the football game FIFA 2012 from retailers Gamestation or GAME.

Following the confirmation of the September 30 release date of FIFA 12 in the UK, EA Sports has announced that those who pre-ordered the game will receive 24 additional Ultimate Team Gold Packs.

Strangely, you can’t pre-order the standard FIFA 12 game at the moment, instead, you’ll have to pre-order the FIFA 12: Special Edition, or if you’re ordering from Gamestation, Amazon or GAME, the FIFA 12: Ultimate Edition. Not to confuse gamers out there, but both editions of the game are exactly the same as the normal version of the game – without the extras that you’ll find in special editions. The only difference is that by pre-ordering either of the two, you’ll be eligible to receive free downloadable extras.

When you buy the game, you’ll receive a special code that you can redeem via the in-game store. With the 24 Team Gold Packs, where you can redeem four per month for six months, can be used in FIFA Ultimate Team.

The Ultimate Team is the digital card trading game of FIFA 12 and players can purchase player packs, which can be used to create their own team.

EA’s FIFA 2012 is going to be released in the UK on September 30. If you want to take advantage of this special offer, you’ll have to pre-order now.
