Earlier today Sony posted another update that they hoped would calm irate gamers who are angry because the Playstation network is still down. Many gamers were simply asking for a reason for the delay in re-launching the PSN network.
To be fair the blog post did explain that ‘external intrusion’ meant Sony had to shutdown the Network to investigate and protect the integrity of the network and its users. This has gone some way to quell angry reactions although many feel it an inadequate update and are demanding more details.
One of the cleaner comments asked: “Wow horrible PR for real. All you got to say? ETA, anything else? If i was getting [sic] paid $100,000 + a year, I would update the community with more then a sentence or two every few days.” Which seems to be the general consensus between a lot of gamers.
Another common theme involves general anger towards the ‘external intrusion’ which is widely believed to be either hackers, a DDOS attack or gamers finding a way to access games for free causing Sony to shutdown the PSN to plug up the holes. What ever the reason PS3 gamers are very annoyed that a slim few have caused trouble for the majority.
Not all gamers feel the same though; others suggested quicker ways for Sony to spread news, Ramage posted: “I’d say you could get the word out quite a bit faster using twitter. Thanks for the update”. To be fair they are using Twitter to post links to their updates so we guess ‘Ramage’ meant the content and frequency they are using social media to get the word out.
So a wide variety of reactions, a great deal of which we have accepted and enjoyed on our own comments section. Feel free to explain your thoughts below, be them positive; negative or just humorous (just keep it clean as you can :-)).

hurry the hell up sony!!!!!!!!
ya not wrong
Look they shouldn't have done this mess in the first place, nobody gives a damn about hackers rights or freedom of speech, GET A REAL damn job fat skin ass nerd hackers!!!
The HELL with all HACKERS!!!
first hahaha
unlucky number 2
Never mess with hackers. Sony be like Microsoft and just let us play game backups.
stfu noob, your no hacker
Sony should make it so hakers carnt hack it because it's no nice to other people who have been hacked
unfortunately for all the computer tech illiterate hackers will always find a way of hacking systems for example when the iphone 4 came out it took them a couple of weeks to find a way of breaking the code and apple said it couldnt be broken
yh thats true no detail
if sony has already been attacked before, why is this time takng so long?
i hope we get double xp on MMA 4 this delay
you get what you pay for.... and we pay nothing.
that is the dumbest i every heard, we payed for the system, the games, headsets. Any sales made by ps3 has a certain percentage of profit going into managing the network. They just diverted the expense and get their budget from somewhere else. Microsoft is just direct.
we pay an extra $200 then xbox.
you not pay for the games. use your brain befor typing.
I pay for + and Im out, why am I paying for + if I cant use it, Im also paying for MUBI, cant use that either.... ARGHHH AA AAAA AAARRHHHHH
you don't buy your game ,ps3 or pay for internet??
you're an idiot
amen.
I’m getting very annoyed with the whole situation! I can understand a Day to tie up some loose ends but all the money Sony makes with all there products world wide you would think they would have some of the best equipment and personnel to get the job done fast and efficient. I can see now its just the opposite!
I am Angry, But I understand this is the best for Sony, it's not their fault that an annonymous Group of Hackers did that. - AeRo
Yes it is... They are responsible for their security... if they can even handle a DDOS attack i will NEVER trust them with my credit card info...
yes it is sonys fault there trying to put a guy in jail for usuing ther product diffrent then it was intended
Sony seem to be failing miserably in their responses, either via the blog or twitter. they are missing one important point in that if the "external intrusion" has resulted in the loss of any customer data then they have a rather large number of possible victims being told nothing about what if any of their data has been put at risk when a simple statement explaining a little bit more about the incident that has now caused the network to be down for so long.
The fallout from this is not only going to hit them with their PSN members being reluctant to spend money with them but also their partners like LoveFilm who are losing revenue hand over fist with nobody able to stream content (and pay for the privilege)
Sony are rapidly heading themselves into an embarrassing corner, after all is said and done, did RSA and Barracuda wait this long before coming clean.
