Griffin has announced that its newest music product, the Stompbox, is available now. Stompbox is a physical pedal board that, when connected to a guitar and an iOS device, enables users to add a number of programmable effects to your instrument.

Stompbox allows users to enhance the capabilities of apps like Frontier Group’s Guitar, iShred and iShred LIVE.

Instruments that have a 1/4-inch jack, which include guitar, keyboards, electric bass, electric violin, etc., can be plugged in to the device, and by using Stompbox, you can turn your iPad or iPhone into a multi-effects pedal for your instruments. Stompbox features four programmable foot switches that enables control for various effects.

“Designed to work with any instrument that takes a 1/4-inch jack such as a guitar, bass guitar, electric violin and keyboard, StompBox was created to work with Frontier Design’s iShred LIVE app. The combination of StompBox and iShred LIVE allows musicians to switch effects with their feet, without taking their hands off the instrument,” written in the product’s press release.

What’s good about this is you can use it for live performances, as the Stompbox comes with Griffin’s 1 meter heavy duty GuitarConnect cable that can simultaneously connect your instrument, iPhone or iPad, and an instrument amplifier.

Griffin’s Stompbox is not only designed for musicians. The device’s programmable controls also work with Griffin’s teleprompter app, Qscript.
