The mobile phone manufacturer HTC is set to branch out to produce a tablet pc that they feel will be able to take on the might of the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab as early as 2011.

The mobile giants gave an interview to mobilebusinessbriefing.com, the CEO of HTC Peter Chou revealed“[Customers] may want Windows or Android; or they may want big screen or small screen, they may want keyboard or tablet; HTC will let the consumer decide.”

So some pretty exciting news, HTC will be led by their customers and give them what they want – fantastic. However, HTC did not expand much on release date or give any details on the actual specifications.

Chou did however go into further details on their Long-Term Evolution handsets, he explained that they will provide a faster connection than current 3G networks using an expanded version of Verizon’s and MetroPCS 4g networks – so a little way to go when you consider only major US cities are currently 4G capable.

He said “We think that the US mobile operators will be taking the lead and pushing 4G LTE in the US market… We are working on LTE devices for next year.”

So great news for the US but little condolence for the UK, we need some 4G loving too!
