You can really find anything and everything in China… even products from the future! Yes, you read it right. China has it all, even unannounced products, like this iPhone 5 knockoff that was recently spotted by tech website GizChina.
This iPhone 5 was apparently designed by “Appole in California,” and was “Assemeaded in USA.” It even has its own “Modle” number! The phone features a black plastic body, a front camera and a rear camera with an LED flash, and a label that suggests it can store 64 GB of data.
We know that it’s not surprising to see a Chinese iPhone knockoff, but we must give it an ‘A’ for effort ripping off a top-secret mobile phone that hasn’t been announced and properly photographed yet. According to GizChina, this ‘iPhone 5’ is being sold for 699 yuan (or £66) and it runs on a Java based operating system. It also has Wi-Fi connectivity, and MP3 and MP4 playback.
The images show that it has a design very similar to the leaked cased designs. This iPhone 5 knockoff does not feature the mute switch that was moved to the other side, as seen on the leaked case designs. The home button remains unchanged rather than its “new” elongated design.
This device is only 7 mm thick, slimmer compared to the 9.3 mm-thick iPhone 4.
Apple is expected to launch the real iPhone 5 in sometime in September.
