Despite all the rumors and purported cases that are floating around the Internet for the iPhone 5, Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S, a completely different phone from what was expected.

Everybody has been led to believe that Apple will launch a revolutionary new iPhone that sports a bigger screen and a thinner body. Well, it turns out that rumors are true, according to a source close to the matter.

A report by Business Insider says that the publication has received word from an unnamed source who claimed to have had used the iPhone 5 and offered to shed some light on the device.

“We’ve been told this by an industry source who has been right about future Apple products in the past,” read the Business Insider report. “We have not been able to verify what he told us with a second source. So we’re still treating these details as rumors. You should probably still read this post with a nice fat dose of salt.”

According to the source, Apple did plan to release the fifth-generation iPhone this year, but was forced to cancel a few months before the iPhone 4S was introduced.

The source said that Steve Jobs “was unhappy with the bigger screen because it “fragmented” iPhones.”

We all know very well that Apple is a company that plans its products in advance, so we know that we will be seeing the iPhone 5 maybe next year, if all these were true.
