We have all been waiting quite some time now for the famous white iPhone, which was supposed to have made its appearance almost a year ago.
Now it seems that the long wait is almost over, as the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the new, lighter coloured Apple iPhone should be with us by the end of April.
There have been a huge amount of false starts, unfounded rumours and wrong release dates surrounding the white iPhone but it seems that the newspaper has it from a good source that we are only a matter of days away from seeing this device hit the streets in the US at least.
No quotes from Apple and no source names were given in the article but it seems that the firm’s promised spring release date is going to be met this time and that it will happen before the month of April is out.
A number of reasons have been given for the various delays of the white iPhone 4 – the white casing being too light for the camera flash and the paint peeling under high temperatures being the most interesting ones – and it is no wonder that the latest supposed release date has been met with some scepticism.
Phillip Schiller confirmed before that a White iPhone would be available in the spring; however he did not actually say whether this would be an iPhone 4 or iPhone 5. If Apple is planning to roll out the iPhone 5 in the summer then surely Apple won’t bother with a white iPhone 4, or perhaps Apple won’t release the iPhone 5 in the summer at all – it’s all very perplexing and a great topic of conversation.
Either way it seems that the white iPhone is finally on its way and we wonder just how well it go down with the public, especially if it is an iPhone 4 and not 5.
Do you intend to buy one or are you just as happy sticking with the classic iPhone look for now?
