A leaked document from Best Buy suggests that Apple Inc.’s much-awaited smartphone, the iPhone 5, may be launched in October, according to a tech news website.
Boy Genius Reports (BGR) said that best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores are getting ready for the release of the fifth-generation iPhone as early as the first week of October.
“iPhone 5 product introduction expected, pre-sales begin for expected October week 1 launch/ Sprint launches iPhone 5,” read the leaked document as seen on the BGR website. The report noted that the release dates may be “subject to change.”
“What’s a tad bit more interesting, however, is the mention (and further anticipation) that Sprint will be carrying the iPhone 5 at launch,” wrote BGR in its report.
Meanwhile, This is My Next has posted a leaked Best Buy document, which reveals that an unnamed Best Buy branch is scheduled to have an “Apple fixture” installment on October 21. The installment was said to be initiated by the branch manager. The report said that the 6 AM schedule, an hour ahead of the usual inventory of all Best buy stores is unusual. It also said that Best Buy Mobile managers will have a meeting on October 10 about “upcoming BIG release dates,” possibly for an iPhone 5 release.
Best Buy has not yet released official words if the reports are true.
BGR also said that their source clarified that pre-sales for the iPhone 5 may actually start this week, with the much-awaited mobile phone arriving in the first week of October.
