Leaked HP document shows White Touchpad release date

A confidential document that reveals information about some of HP’s products for the WebOS platform, which includes a white TouchPad version, has been leaked and published by a website yesterday. It seems that after the release of HP’s TouchPad, the company has already planned their next move.

The document says that a new white TouchPad will be released in August. The reported “white glossy” TouchPad will come with an upgraded processor chip and 64GB of internal storage space. Rumor has it that a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC might be installed inside.

The leaked presentation showed that HP may have deliberately reduced the 16GB TouchPad supply to encourage suppliers to push the higher priced 32GB version.

The HP TouchPad, like the Apple iPad, has a 9.7-inch touchscreen and has a 1024×768 resolution, but unlike the latter, it runs on a slightly faster processor.

HP is expected to release the Pre3 and Opal in autumn. Autumn falls past HP’s summer availability for the Pre3 announcement, but it could also mean that the company will launch the Pre3 in Europe before summer ends, with availability in the US slated for autumn.

The Opal is said to be HP’s 7-inch tablet. No other news for the Opal has surfaced since the leak of its design documents back in January. This device is expected to be released in autumn, but we have no other details about the product at the moment.
