Images of what claims to be the real iPhone 5 recently emerged, giving us the first look at Apple’s new iPhone 5 smartphone. Posted by a Mac Rumors forum member, the image revealed what looks like a longer smartphone that is thinner than the Apple’s iPhone 4 model.
The poster, known as guigsh, said that the image was taken “in the office of a French operator.” In a different post in the Mac Rumors forum, he said, “We were able to see it only 2 minutes, pictures forbidden of course, so, we did our best.”
Talking about the new phone’s performance, he said that compared to the new phone, the iPhone 4’s performance “looks really slow now.”
All this really sounded promising as the fifth-generation iPhone is expected to have a faster dual-core A5 processor. However, the image posted caused a lot of suspicion. Some experts believe that the next iPhone will have curved sides, which is different from the phone in the photo, and it seems that the SIM card slot is missing.
Tech site Gizmodo did a bit of research and found the origin of the photo. They discovered the original photo with a French caption that says, “Une photo comme ça pourrait rendre des sites fous…” When translated in English, it reads: “A picture like this could drive some sites crazy…”
So, another iPhone 5 leak is busted. With the expected September iPhone 5 release date only weeks away, we’ll just have to wait for its official announcement from Apple.
