Mercedes A Class Leaked Pictures Reveal Classy Looks

If you have been waiting to see what the new Mercedes A Class is all about then you can thank the European Patent Office and a French car website for spilling les haricots. We saw the concept A-Class last month.

The leaked pictures which got out of the patent office and onto the internet have given us a sneaky chance to appreciate the car well before its first scheduled appearance and a year before the expected release date.

The stunning design has some strong similarities with the recently unveiled Concept A car although it is a 5 door hatch rather than a 3 door job. It is also a bit more practical looking than the design which took a lot of people’s breath away at the recent New York Motor Show and in an equivalent motor show in Shanghai.

As regards the new form of the A Class, the rear is fairly sharply cut away, the bonnet is pretty long and there is a rear roof spoiler featured on the images.

Inside it there will be a new front wheel drive system in place and up to date class C engines which will offer both diesel and petrol options. The Mercedes A Class will also have a powerful 350 BHP four wheel drive model.

We expect this 5 door hatch to first see the light of day at the Frankfurt Motor Show in a few months time and it will probably be 2012 before it goes on general sale.

Do you like what you see of the new Mercedes A Class?
