A couple of days ago we brought news of a new iPhone 5 ‘mold drawing’ which seemed to depict the upcoming Smartphone as having an edge to edge screen. At the time we were a little sceptical of the drawings as they looked very much like an iPhone 4 in design and didn’t conclusively show an edgeless screen (there was still a thin bezel). Then the same source revealed these supporting computer generated pictures.
As you can see the screen is marginally wider in this picture but still has a thin white border (known as the bezel), you may also notice that apart from being white it appears to be exactly the same as the current iPhone 4. If the drawings are accurate it could mean Apple are simply face lifting the iPhone as they did with the 3G/3GS but this doesn’t mean the interior won’t get an overhaul.
Many have speculated that the iPhone 5 will include the same A5 processor used to power the iPad 2, is likely to keep the same retina display, have upgraded cameras and perhaps even include NFC technology for wireless payments.
One certainty is that the iPhone 5 will be available in both black and white; if they can do it on the iPad why wouldn’t they do it with the next iPhone? The famous home button on the above drawings is white which doesn’t correlate with the white iPad 2 which comes complete with a colour coded version – this is but one reason to question the credibility of the drawings.
Is this the next iPhone or just a bored fan with time on their hands?
Not sure if the pics are legit but still cannot wait for the iPhone 5 to be released!
Yes you can never be certain. Totally agree with you about the arrival though. Exciting times
It must be photo shopped as the screen looks far too black
noticed something interesting on the apple store today
have a look at this http://store.apple.com/uk/product/H2876?mco=MTAyN…
please notice the last two images for this item
That's interesting, potentially a future link to the NFC wireless transactions possibly?
if you flick between the two images one has a wide screen and another doesn't. Interestingly the one with a widescreen has no credit cards in the holder either, so perhaps an indication of NFC and widescreen on an iPhone 5 mock up?
