Another day and another set of news snippets relating to a tablet pc. This time it’s the Motorola Xoom taking some of the limelight, the tablet has reportedly sold 100,000 units through pre-order and we now know how much it’s going to cost. There is even a rumour that Motorola could be preparing a 16GB wi-fi only version.

UK Price point confirmed

Motorola has confirmed that the Wi-Fi and 3G models will cost £480 and £580 respectively. This shows that the likes of PC World and Curry’s have had there price point right for the last couple of weeks. Motorola initially priced the Xoom at £600 for the 3G and £500 for the Wi-Fi version with the price drop being seen as a direct response to the Apple iPad 2 price point. Will this be enough? Judging by the reported sales figures possibly not.

16GB Xoom incoming?

Another piece of news/rumour relates to a smaller capacity 16GB Wi-Fi only version. The below screenshot was taken by the guys over at Droid-Life and seems to indicate that their will indeed be a 16GB version and it will also be upgraded to 4G LTE in the future. There is no indication on price although we’d expect it to come in at around £430 or even an iPad matching £399.
