Current rumours suggest that the next iPhone could bump up the video recording power to allow users to make their own 4k videos.
The story appears to have kicked off on a Chinese website, where many Apple rumours start out. Currently, the latest models of the iPhone lets you records 1080p videos. However, there are a number of Android phones that already offer 4k videos already. Could it be that Apple is now ready to catch up?
A 12 Megapixel Rear Camera
According to the story doing the rounds just now, the rear camera on the next iPhones will have a 12 megapixel rear camera that allows for 4k video recording. This seems like a very possible development, as Apple is reportedly working on cameras improvements rather than changes to the phone or its design.
Of course, one of the reasons why many people aren’t too fussed about the appearance of 4k video recording facilities yet is that they don’t have a 4k TV to play it on. These are readily available these days but they are still a bit too expensive for most of us to justify buying.
In addition, recording 4k video takes up a huge amount of memory space too. This means that the demand for this facility isn’t as great as it will be in the future. However, it is still good to see Apple working on this. Providing that the rumours are true, that is.
Do you want 4k video recording ability on your phone right now? Would you use it?
