Nintendo 3DS Price Dropped at UK Retailers

Barely a month has passed since the Nintendo 3DS launched here in the UK and retailers have already slashed prices, this could be for a number of reasons including lack of interest or just a good old fashioned way to attract buyers to their shops or online stores.

Both Game and Amazon have dropped their prices, Game has now charges £179.99 for a 3DS console on its own whilst Amazon are offering the console for the same price or with a game and free screen protector for £189.99 which seems like the logical deal to take if you are planning to purchase a game anyway. Games included in the deal range from Rayman 3D, Sims 3 and Ridge Racer 3D as well as others.

When the 3DS first launched it retailed at £220, this is still the official RRP which just goes to show that retailers are willing to slash their margins or indeed go close to making a loss to secure customers – this is great news for the consumer (perhaps not if you have already purchased one).

Whether prices will level off now or continue to drop is unknown, we guess it’s up to the retailers to decide. Will the decrease in price persuade you to buy a 3DS now or will you hold out for an even better deal?
