OnLive, the cloud gaming service that lets users stream games over the internet, has been released in the United Kingdom today, marking its expansion overseas since it launched in North America last year.
The service that was launched in the country is much more advanced than the US launched. Now, the gaming service features more than 150 games and is available on connected PCs, Macs, tablets and TVs. With the OnLive gaming service, players can watch others play their games, play demos without downloading and log in from just about any computer.
“OnLive is incredibly excited to bring instant-play, on-demand cloud gaming to the UK,” said OnLive Founder and Chief Executive Officer Steve Perlman. “OnLive is an entirely new way of experiencing top-tier video games, anywhere, anytime and on virtually any connected device, whether TV, PC, Mac or tablet, with awesome cloud-powered features and community unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. UK gamers, welcome to OnLive!”
OnLive is launching its gaming service at the Eurogamer Expo in London, where the expo’s attendees can get chance to receive a free OnLive Gaming System. The company also offers the first game for £1, where users normally pay around £40 for a game.
The company is also offering a subscription service, where users pay £6.99 a month to access a over 100 games. A console that can be connected to TVs are also available for £70 from the OnLive website that comes with an Xbox-style controller.
