News has been breaking about the official roll out of the Playstation Network, updates have quickly spread that the PSN network is now back online which for some it is. Others however are facing a longer wait despite being able to update their system with new firmware.
A post on the official PSN blog states: “We strongly recommend that all PSN account holders with PS3s update their systems to prepare for when PlayStation Network is back online. The release of this update is a critical step as we work to make PlayStation Network significantly more secure.”
So no admission there that it will definitely be back online in the UK today just that they are preparing to bring it back soon. Another official blog post shed a little more light explaining that the Network will be rolled out to different regions gradually, Nick Caplin said: ““We’ll let you know as each territory goes online via @PlayStationEU on Twitter, at which point you will be able change your PSN password.”
Users in America are already reporting that they are back online whilst people in the UK are still waiting, the official advice is to update to the new firmware (version 3.61) in preparation of the re-launch. A video announcement (below) has once again thanked PSN users for their patience.
