Samsung has brought out some exciting new models at the Mobile World Congress 2016.
Mark Zuckerberg was among the crowd watching the Korean tech giant’s presentations, which were made partially using the Gear VR headsets.
The Gear 360 was perhaps the most exciting product shown off by Samsung. This is a spherical 360 degree camera than can take photos and videos for virtual reality purposes.
As for the new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S7 continues with the firm’s recent move into smarter glass and metal designs. The S7 Edge has a 5.5 inch screen, while the S7 has a 5.1 inch display. They are both curved at the back, while the Edge has a curved front too.
These models of the Galaxy are water-resistant, which was a feature missing from the last generation. In both cases, the batteries can’t be removed but there is a fast wireless charging option.
The Features
The S7 and the S7 Edge both have 32GB of internal storage space and a microSD slot too. Around the right hand side of the phone is an additional display that gives shortcuts to tasks such as taking selfies and sending out emails.
The phones can be used along with the Samsung Pay technology to make them into mobile wallets. They also has a nice feature that means that you can also see your notifications and the time when the gadget is face up on a flat surface, with no noticeable battery drain due to this.
The phones will be available from early March but no prices have been revealed yet.
