UK TV viewers are in for a treat soon, when the Sky Q service starts to receive Ultra HD signals.

This will happen in August and there will be plenty of choice for us to pick from starting then. It all kicks off for the Sky Q Ultra HD service on the 13th of August with Leicester vs. Hull.

If we stick with the football, fans will be delighted to see that an amazing 124 Premier League games will be broadcast in Ultra HD during the upcoming season. You will also be able to watch every Formula 1 race in the 2017 season, with other big sporting events also expected to be shown in this way.

Having said that, you will be able to see a lot more than sport using this new service.

Among the 70 movies that are lined up are The Martian and The Revenant are among those that stand out. There will also be the chance to see the world premiere of Spectre in the Ultra HD format.

Dramas and Documentaries Too

That’s not all, though. 5 new dramas that are also set to appear on Sky Q Ultra HD. These include the 4th series of The Blacklist and The Young Pope with Jude Law. As for documentaries, the likes of Big Cats and David Attenborough’s Conquest of the Skies are among those that seem most appealing.

Of course, if you want to enjoy this new service then you will need a TV that is capable of receiving Ultra HD transmissions. You will also need the Sky Q Silver box and a suitable subscription.

You won’t want to forget to set your resolution to 4K Ultra HD (2160p) and then you are ready to go. There is no separate channel for shows and films in this format, so you can enjoy it across your range of channels.

Are you planning to move to HD or Ultra HD viewing soon?
