Sony have long since been at the forefront of audio technology and they have not let themselves down by anticipating the need for car stereos with a simple USB port for connecting most leading brands of MP3 players. The launch of the Sony ‘Xplod’ range of car stereos brings simplicity to the connection of MP3 players including all types of iPod’s including the iPhone and Walkman’s to your car stereo.

Both the new Sony Xplod car stereos models CDX-GT920U and CDX-GT620U in-dash car stereos provide a CD player, USB port for connection to personal stereos MP3 players, AAC and WMA playback and a remote control and the Sony Xplod’s will also charge the device at the same time and also allow for a simple navigation function of the playlist via the Quick BrowZer. Sony Xplod model CDX-GT920U has a fully detachable fold out faceplate which is motorized, featuring a large fluorescent switchable display with green, blue, or red illumination. The Sony Xplod model CDX-GT620U has a faceplate that flips down and detaches with blue illumination.

The bonus to the end user is fantastic, no extra equipment needed for the car stereo to access your iTunes library and will also allow for passengers to use their MP3 players on a long journey to break up the monotony of a single library of tunes, as yet there isn’t any indication as to the cost of the two models concerned.

If you fancy having the option of Bluetooth connectivity then the Sony MEX range are the car stereos to be looking at. This superb Sony range of in car stereo equipment allows for not only playback of all your music files but also allows for wireless and handsfree telephone calls to be made. Never again would you need to try to shout above your car stereo system to make yourself heard when you accept a hands free call, the music on the Sony MEX will automatically pause to allow for a trouble free phone call.
