It seems this weeks Playstation Phone news snippet has taken mobile gamers a step closer to a launch date of the fabled Sony Ericsson Z1 Smartphone. If rumours from Pocket-Lint are true the phone will land in shops as early as April 2011 after making its debut at the Mobile World Show.
The article explained that the source was certain the phone would land next year “but although it will get a Feb launch, it won’t be in shops until April” it read.
The anonymous source also said : “Sony Ericsson is going big on this one”, a promising statement that may go some way in standing up to the rumours that have been circulating over the past few weeks.
The speculations have included a slide out keypad, that it will feature the latest incarnation of Android and will in fact be Sony Ericsson branded. One recent rumour that was dispelled was the supposed announcement on December 9th, in the end it turned out to be a Playstation App for Android and iOS Smartphones.
At least this is yet more evidence that the PSP Phone is coming, this many rumours can’t all be wrong, can they?
