Star Wars Comes to Xbox with Kinect Gesture Controls

Those of you with reservations about motion based gaming could be about to be convinced, as Microsoft and Lucas Arts have just released an amazing trailer for a Kinect controlled Star Wars game.

A trailer of the upcoming game has been shown at E3 and is now available on the web (and below actually). It shows how gamers will be able to wield a light saber and use the force using Kinects built in gesture control. This part of the game looks awesome, although we are not completely sold on controlling X-Wing’s and other vehicles, we will have to wait to try for ourselves.

Gamers can play on their own or with a friend, standing side by side in front of the Kinect sensor to control every aspect of the game, the coolest part in the demo has to be using force push and force grab because it looks just like the actions seen on all the films.

This new Star Wars rendition will take parts from each film, requiring the player to prove their worth to become a true Jedi. If rumours are true it could be on the shelves during Autumn 2011, just in time for Christmas.

What do you think, the ultimate way to play Star Wars, or a poor excuse for the force?
