With there now being so many different ways to enjoy some television or the latest news, it is the turn of Sky to try and tempt us into a new way of viewing using the latest technology.
Sky Q is the giant media company’s latest product, and it promises to let you “watch what you, when you want”. It is now available in the UK, as well as in Ireland, with the first installations due at the end of February.
The basic idea behind Sky Q is that you can record and watch shows or on-demand features in the way that best suits you. You can also use it to make purchases from Sky Store.
Additionally, the multi-room feature means that you have a lot more flexibility in how you choose to do your viewing.
Sky Q Silver
The top end box is the Sky Q Silver, which comes with 2TB of memory and can record a maximum of 4 different channels. As for the standard box, is it more impressive than Sky+ HD, as you can watch a maximum of 5 programmes across your TV and mobile devices.
You can also choose a Sky Q Mini, with gives access in different rooms from the main box without the need for cables. You can also use a Sky Q Hub router as part of the system.
The starting price for this new way of watching TV starts at £99, although there are a lot of different options and factors to take into account. For example, the £99 price relates to the standard box if you have a bundle that includes broadband, sports or movies on it.
