Dante’s Inferno is a new action adventure video game which is being developed for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and is due to be released by EA Games in 2010. This stunning video game is based on the Inferno that was featured in the 14th Century Italian epic religious poem Divina Commedia which means Divine Comedy, written by Dante Alighieri.

If you are unfamiliar with the story the premise of Dante’s Inferno video game is based around the first part of the poem. Dante’s original poem was written in three distinct parts; the first being Inferno or hell, the second Purgatory and the third Paradise. In the inferno Dante describes his terrifying journey through the gates of hell, the famous inscription on the gates reads “abandon all hope, ye who enter here”. The nightmare world he travels is filled with outcasts, the damned, souls of the evil dead and vicious beasts. Dante travels through the nine realms of hell guided by a Roman poet Virgil represented by different circles, each circle signifying a human sin; limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery . The Dante’s Inferno video game will take the player on the journey as a third person allowing them to participate in the fateful journey that Dante takes.

If the trailers of this dark and atmospheric new video game are anything to go by, then this is going to be the video game of 2010. EA Games has worked extremely hard to get pre-launch interest cultivated, which is proving very successful. This is a medieval video game of epic proportions and we here at Gadgets and Gizmos can’t wait to get our hands on Dante’s Inferno video game when it officially hits the UK.
