It seems that DLC’s are all the rage at the moment, the game that seems to be grabbing all the attention is Call of Duty: Black Ops. Gamers were promised one DLC at the start of the year and then were treated to another mere months later. Well, guess what? Activision could be planning a third installment for June, entitled Annihilation.
The news comes from a sneaky Gamestop employee or patron who took some spy shots of store signage and fired it off to Kotaku. In the forefront of the photograph you can see the poster which includes five new maps, including a new Zombie Map.
The maps include Hanger B, Hazard, Silo, Drive-in and a new Zombie Map (the title is difficult to make out). The poster also includes the release date of 28th June 2011 which has prompted rumours that Gamestop are already accepting pre-orders in their stores in the US.
At this stage Activision has yet to confirm the new DLC, they have simply told the blog that they have ‘no comment’ on the matter. The date does seem to be very close if a new DLC is in the works, with previous launches they have given plenty of notice and annoyed Playstation owners in the process (Xbox always seems to receive the DLC first).
What are your thoughts on this latest DLC? Will you fork out for it or is it one ad-on too far?
