The downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops that we blogged about in December has finally been given an official welcome via a press release and an accompanying video. As expected the DLC will be available from February 1st but as predicted will not be immediately available on all platforms.
The additional content will be available via download, as suspected this will consist of four brand new multiplayer maps and another COD: Zombie Map entitled Ascension. Players who choose to download the pack will be able to enjoy multiplayer battles at the Berlin Wall, a German research post in the Antarctic, Kowloon City (China) or an all new stadium level – all of which can be seen in the demo video below.
XBOX 360 owners will be the first to get their hands on the First Strike. For 1200 Microsoft points they will be able to download the extra map packs on the 1st February but Sony Playstation and PC gamers will have to wait at least a month before they can do the same. This will be another thorn in the side of non XBOX gamers who understandably think the move is unfair and unjustly biased.
Will you be downloading the new COD: Black Ops DLC and if so which new level looks most attractive to you?
