Speculation of a possible iPhone 5 release date in August has been triggered by a UK job listing for sales specialists for Apple’s iPhones.

UK recruiter Gekko posted a job ad on Reed.co.uk for a temporary “Apple iPhone sales specialist” for “retail in-store promotions.”

“Our client, Apple, one of the largest consumer electronic hardware and software companies in the world are seeking full-time iPhone Sales Staff for an exciting project to work 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) for the period 16th August – 29th October within key retail stores,” the company said.

Successful applicants are said to attend a “4 day training event” from August 9th to 12th in London. The ad says that the job pays £75 a day an it involves working closely with the management and staff of the store to “generate and grow iPhone sales to ensure sales targets are met” while “providing a first class customer service experience.”

Gekko has worked with Apple for several years now and they were awarded the “Most Innovative Campaign” award for its Apple staffing campaign that made “nearly £2 million in hardware sales alone.”

Talking about the rumored August iPhone 5 release, Apple enthusiast site 9to5mac.com said: “Rumors pointing to a September or early October launch for the new iPhone have been prevalent so far with Apple’s traditional early September music announcement, but we’re happy to line up early.”

Does this mean the new iPhone 5 will be launched earlier than September? It certainly sounds like it to us.
