Angry Birds ‘Mine and Dine’ Update Incoming

Rovio has announced a brand new update of the original Angry Birds via Twitter. The update is called ‘Mine and Dine’ and as the name suggests will mean the birds going to war with those pesky pigs underground.

As with other themed level packs, Rovio has gone all out with props and costumes for the targets and especially the pigs. Some of the pigs will come equipped with miners helmets and pickaxes, there will also be copious amounts of loose boulders, wooden beams and the usual obstacles to bash your way through.

The teaser video shows other new objects including jewels, one scene shows a shining red jewel hanging in a box. Presumably, this could mean extra points for smashing the jewels – we will have to wait and see. The update will be free to current Angry Birds owners, whilst new adopters will have to stump up 59p on iOS devices.

Rovio’s Tweet explained that the update had been submitted to the Apple app store for approval, as this is just an update it should mean the moderators will approve the app within a matter of days (if not sooner). Watch the video and let us know what you think of the update in the comments section below.

I think this is a timely update. It's been a while since we saw a bit "darker" Angry Birds theme. =)

Oh, thank God Rovio made an update. If you’re playing this game every day, over and over again, you want some kind of difficult challenge. And I truly hope that this Mine and Dine Episode will be worth my time.

  3. Well, only available for iOS so far, I guess that tomorrow it will also be at Amazon App Store
