Ask Jeeves was established in 2000 and aimed to answer every question or query that Internet users could throw at it. It’s done pretty well in providing the answers to some taxing questions but it certainly hasn’t been able to answer them all. In light of this, Ask Jeeves has put together a list of the top 10 most unanswerable questions that includes the likes of “is there a God?”, “do blondes have more fun?” and perhaps slightly less obviously, “did Tony Soprano die?”
The unanswerable list has been drawn up to help celebrate Ask’s 10th birthday and not only is it a list compiled from the search engine’s own search statistics from the past decade but it is also providing celebrities and other Internet users with the opportunity to have their say on such philosophical matters as “what is love?” and “what is the best diet?”
Sarah Beeny, Nicky Clarke, and Russell Grant will be providing their own answers to the 10 most unanswerable and a special website (question no 11, by the way, could be “why is the unanswerable page not working?”) has been set up so that average users like ourselves can log on and attempt to answer them.
