Cupertino tech giant Apple is planning to unveil a new iPod Touch, reported tech news site AppleInsider. According to the website, Apple will announce a white iPod Touch in August or September, where Apple usually shows off its new iPod music players.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities, the fifth-generation iPod Touch will come in white, and is said to be almost identical to the current version, the fourth-gen iPod Touch.
According to the report by AppleInsider, “Looking into the current third calendar quarter, Kuo said checks indicate Apple has placed orders for white iPod touch models that are expected to go into mass production sometime in late August, but he added that the build plans for those models reflect few, if any, distinguishable changes from the existing black models introduced last fall.”
References to a new iPod Touch known as the “iPod4,2” appeared last month in the iOS 5 beta, which leads to speculations that the upcoming version of the iPod Touch will have only minor updates.
The leaked photos of the white iPod Touch could belong to a new version of the current iPod Touch or it could mean that a new model will come out in 2012. With a white iPod Touch model, a trio of white Apple devices will be complete and will surely be an instant hit.
